Information on the Processing and Protection of Personal Data

At the law firm REHAK LEGAL, Holečkova 100/9, 150 00 Prague 5 (hereinafter referred to as the “law firm” or “we”), as the controller of personal data, we fully protect and respect personal data of data subjects and safeguard such data against misuse in accordance with applicable legislation and professional regulations.

Through this notice, we inform individuals whose personal data we process — in particular our clients, suppliers (or their representatives), job applicants, and other third parties (hereinafter referred to as the “data subject”) — about how we handle personal data, for what purposes and on what legal basis such data are processed, to whom they may be disclosed, and what rights data subjects have in relation to such processing.

1. Personal Data

1.1 Clients

We process personal data of our clients to the extent necessary for the performance of legal services and for the effective protection of their rights and interests, in particular:
name and surname, date of birth, personal identification number, permanent address, phone number, e-mail address, family status and situation, financial situation, bank account details, data on ongoing/completed/threatened judicial, enforcement or administrative proceedings, data relating to criminal proceedings, data from documents provided by the client, and, where applicable, audio/video recordings.

1.2 Third parties

We process personal data of third parties obtained in connection with the provision of legal services, to the extent necessary for the performance of legal services and protection of the client’s rights and interests, in particular similar categories of data as listed above.

1.3 Signature authentication

We process personal data of applicants requesting a declaration of signature authenticity (replacement of official verification under Czech Bar regulations), including:
name, date of birth/personal ID number, address, and identification document details.

1.4 Suppliers

We process personal data of suppliers (and their representatives/employees) necessary for contractual performance, including:
name, date of birth, ID number, VAT number, address, contact details, bank account, and information about services provided.

1.5 Job applicants

We process personal data contained in CVs for recruitment purposes, including:
name, date of birth, nationality, address, contact details, education, work experience, language skills, expertise, and photographs.


2. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

2.1 Clients

Processing is based on the contract for legal services and is necessary for its proper performance and compliance with legal obligations.

2.2 Third parties

Processing is based on the legitimate interest of the controller in providing legal services and fulfilling legal obligations.

2.3 Signature authentication

Processing is based on legal obligations under regulations governing legal practice.

2.4 Suppliers

Processing is based on contract performance and legitimate interest in cooperation.

2.5 Job applicants

Processing is based on legitimate interest in recruitment and compliance with legal obligations.

No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.


3. Data Retention Period

Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above and in accordance with applicable legal obligations, in particular laws governing legal practice, accounting, taxation, and data protection.

  • Client, supplier, and third-party data: for the duration of the contractual relationship and a reasonable period thereafter
  • Job applicants: during recruitment; unsuccessful applicants max. 1 year
  • Signature authentication: according to legal regulations

4. Recipients of Personal Data

We generally do not disclose personal data to third parties unless necessary.

Recipients may include:

  • accounting and tax advisors
  • IT service providers
  • translators, experts, interpreters
  • public authorities where required by law

Data are always shared only to the necessary extent and under appropriate safeguards.

Personal data are not transferred to third countries or international organizations.


5. Rights of Data Subjects

Under applicable data protection laws, data subjects have the right to:

  • access personal data
  • rectification
  • erasure or restriction of processing
  • object to processing
  • data portability

Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time.

Data subjects may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

Due to the nature of legal practice, some rights may be limited.
